REVIEW: Sally Hansen Pore Minimizing Invisible Powder Treatment
Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 08:17AM During my trip I also managed to grab this new Sally Hansen product which also caught my eye. Its supposed to be a translucent powder that can be worn alone or used to set makeup. It's purpose is to mattify the skin and minimize the appearance of pores.
Product Description:
- Revolutionary loose powder liquifies on contact to a cooling shine control treatment.
- Mattifies skin and controls shine and oil all day.
- Hydrates skin to restore optimal moisture balance.
- Perfect for setting makeup, or wear alone for a smooth finish.
- Works on all skin tones.
- Dermatologist Tested - Hypoallergenic - Non-Comedogenic - Oil Free."
When I got to test this, I must say that for the size of the box it comes in, the actual product is pretty small. Its just over 10 grams in weight and probably wouldn't last longer than a month with daily use. The powder comes in a squeeze tube similar to some foundation tubes that are on the market, and it also includes an application brush. The brush itself is basically a foundation brush; but I must say that while it is travel size, it is of VERY GOOD quality!! I will actually end up using this as a travel foundation brush myself! The bristles are super soft but sturdy enough not to streak which is good! As for the actual product, you are supposed to pour some of the powder onto the brush, and then apply it to your face. The instant that the powder makes contact with your skin it cools the skin and turns into a liquid! It is the coolest thing ever! I don't know how it happens but instantly as soon as it touches your face it gives off a cooling feel on the skin surface and instantly liquifies.
As for the application itself, I personally feel that this would be better if it were a sponge instead; only because it is difficult not to lose any product using the brush. I think that using a sponge will give you more control over the powder until it can liquify on your face. However as cool as it feels on the skin, I must say that once in liquid form this did not spread as easily on the skin; hence creating an uneven application. This is bad because then you have portions of your face that will have more product than others.
Did it minimize the look of my pores and mattify my skin? Honestly, not really. It did mattify somewhat, but my pores appeared the same. About an hour later my skin was back to its normal oiled state.
So all in all, is it worth it? I mean it is a cool product to play with and try out, but will I myself personally include this in my normal routine...probably not! But I will be keeping the brush however!
