Roselyn in Eyeshadow, Faves, Limited Edition, Lipstick & Lipgloss, M.A.C., Reviews
This collection has made M.A.C. history! The Dress Camp collection became the most anticipated makeup collection not only in the history of M.A.C. but cosmetic history PERIOD! Never have I seen something so exclusive and so limited and I am very lucky and fortunate to have been a part of that.

I must say that out of all 2008 collections for M.A.C. I definitely was excited to hear about this particular launch, but never did I think it would receive the attention that it did; simply because Dress Camp is a designer clothing collection from Japan that not too many people know or have heard about in the states. It's definitely not as popular or as known as let's say...Heatherette; and in that note I DEFINITELY expected wayyy more out of the Heatherette collection than what I did of Dress Camp; well I actually expected the Heatherette collection to dominate M.A.C.'s praise for 2008, but with this Dress Camp launch, Heatherette bites the dust.

To start off, I must say that I am truly in love with the casing for this product. The zebra stripes definitely make the items pop and the gold accents truly add to the luxe appeal of all of the items. Heatherette was fun and pink and very glittery, but it was just that...fun. As for Fafi, I was very disappointed with their packaging. The Fafi quads were okay, but I think that M.A.C. could have done more, and the Fafi lipsticks, were decorated by plastic casing on the bottom which easily came off when I opened my lipstick (talk about cheap!). But Dress Camp is oh so luxe and gorgeous! They definitely stepped it up here!

As for the colors go I can honestly say that these are the perfect spring shades for me. The pinks are bright but not overwhelming and the golds and yellows are eye catching and subtle. Its the perfect balance!
The Pink Powder blush is a strong pink shade but can definitely be played down with a light application; however this is a color that has potential so if you want a bright pink cheek this is the color for you, it reminds me of M.A.C.'s Sweetness beauty powder but with more pigmentation. The Sunny Girl eyeshadow is a very pretty yellow eyeshadow but not as strong in color, it is a shadow that builds more with a heavier application for a more intense vibrancy, a very similar color is Urban Decay's Eldorado. The Trend eyeshadow is a neutral shimmer tone but its not very pigmented. This is a color that really has to be packed on for a good color outcome. I'm not too too crazy about it, but its similar to Urban Decay's Midnight Cowboy Rides Again shadow, but Urban Decay's is wayy more pigmented. The Golden Gold eyeshadow is more bronze than gold but definitely a pretty shade. It's very similar to M.A.C.'s Amber Lights but Golden Gold has more bronze undertones and a bit less shimmer.
I loved the the lipglasses and lipstick in this collection. For starters Fashion lipglass and Too Fab lipstick are kissing cousins! They are almost identical, just in different forms. Fashion is a bright mid-tone pink with a subtle frost finish, it can be compared to Fafi's Totally It or M.A.C.'s Plushglass Plus Luxe, but Fashion is a bit more pigmented in color.
Too Fab lipstick is an a bright pink with yellow undertones and somewhat sheer, but surprisingly pigmented. The color outcome is buildable, which I like because if I want to go settle with the the color then one layer would do just fine, but if I wanted to build the color then this shade gives me that option. I would compare Too Fab to Nars Damage or M.A.C.'s Full Fuscia, but Full Fuscia is more pigmented.
She Gold is my absolute fave!!! Its a golden lipgloss with gold shimmer and a yellowish base, Nars Moon Fleet and Dior's Chiffon Beige are similar but not exact. I like this gloss because its something that I can wear on days where I choose not to wear any makeup at all and its also a great gloss that can be universally placed upon any lipstick for a great glow. It's not the color that most people would expect simply from looking at the bottle, but it is a gloss that I truly like and will be making alot of use of.
Even though I am in love with this collection, I can honestly say that it can be duplicated with other shades very easily. I think almost every product in this collection has a twin out there and the dupes I mentioned are pretty darn close. Thus far, I think M.A.C. chose great colors and the combination represents the Dress Camp designers very well. I am very pleased with this launch and by far this is my favorite collection that M.A.C. has put out for 2008. Yay for Dress Camp!

P.S. Remeber that there is still time to enter for a chance to win a Dress Camp palette and own a part of M.A.C. history!!! Click HERE for details.
