Now, you've chosen a horrifically difficult question to answer - I think any make-up addict knows there is no "reason" to love, you just love and do not ask questions. But since your eye tutorial yesterday was so beautiful, I think it's worth a try :P
When I was growing up, my mother *never* wore make-up. Ever, not even a little bit. I didn't know what it was until I was ten! So, you can imagine, when I turned eleven and discovered make-up it was quite a big shock to me. And my first trip to a MAC store - you should have seen the elation. I gave that shop assistant all the money I had and walked away with the prettiest blush in the world (which I still own and use!). Make-up is an art-form - when you do it well you can transform from one thing to another every day. You can make people a mile away know exactly what you stand for and exactly what kind of person you are. You can make a statement, get people talking. It's vain, but you know it's true - the shimmery pigments, the glossy lipsticks, the colourful blushes. Just seeing one of any strikes joy into a girls heart.
Dress Camp is the most limited edition thing I've ever heard of - I don't think it's even being release in Australia, ever. Isn't that awful? & what's more, the price it goes for on Ebay ($72) - it'd probably cost more in the shop if it were released in Australia, the mark-up is scary! Roselyn, that Dress Camp palette is perfect. The gold, the pink, the sparkling copper, even the packaging! Please give me the opportunity to prove what I already know to be true - that palette is my soul mate.
Yours sincerely,
Emily (lol.emily@hotmail.com)
Well, I want to win because I have very few make up items and this looks very lovely! I also have never tried MAC before, and it is a much raved about brand. It is also very pretty and going for sale at scary high prices. And this is very limited edition AND the packaging is *fierce*! I love it. Secondly, makeup makes me very happy because you can create amazing designs on it. My mom used one or two things at most and I was very curious at a young age to try and make cool designs! She brought me into Sephora once while she was looking for the same color of a lipstick--instant love. I was so happy that there were many different products/colors and brands. This has led to a lifelong addiction!!
Thanks for listening,
Becky

Makeup isn't a tattoo, it is changeable
and I go through life with so many rules, but in the morning when I put on my makeup the only rule is "use what you're feeling" and "inspiration is everywhere, just open your eyes and look around"
I want to win this palette because I appreciate and love when designers do projects that are accessible to everybody. I might not ever in life be able to afford a $2000.00 dress, but when designers put out these collections I can have a little piece of that star, hollywood, wow factor. and this palette is gorrrrrrgeous :)
win or lose I'm glad I got to write this and reflect on it, and I'm glad I got to read what other people had to say.
stay beautiful

-- i love the fact that makeup is like an artistic expression for me. Instead of painting on paper, I get to paint on my face, which serves as my canvass. My work of art can then be viewed by everyone and can help brighten up my day, especially when I'm feeling down. There's really nothing like a splash of colour to help perk a sad or tired soul up.
Why do you want to win?
-- Well, I want to win that palette because it will serve as an all-around makeup kit for me -- there's a blush in it and some eyeshadows. All i need is a gloss and i'm ready to go and retouch everytime. Well, the limited edition factor of the palette is also a plus, and the mere fact that i love all the colours and finishes of that palette makes me really sad that i won't be able to get it because it won't ever be available in my country. I don't normally get a chance to afford this kind of makeup also, but i do love MAC and it stays forever!
Guess that's it. =)

Why do I want to win? I would love to win a dress camp pallette as still being a teenager I do not have as much access to all the wonderful cosmetics that money can buy. I don't live in one of the most, let's say... affluent areas of Sydney and my parents have already and still do make plenty of financial sacrifices for me (sending me to a good school and providing me with the best things that they can afford) as a result of which they don't have much money left over for my makeup obsession. I would just like to thank you for an opportunity at even winning a wonderful prize like this, as a couple of MAC items from a new collection would not always be one of my financial 'outlets of expression'. 80% of my purchases are with my own money (am currently jobless as I had to quit because I started to lag in my grades at school) and this would be a lovely addition to my makeup collection.
Thanks again,
Rachel

As for the second question, hmm.... seems simple enough to answer. Why do I want to win? Well I want to win of coarse cause it would make me flip out and do a cartwheel (HAPPY) (in my dreams) to win something as Limited as this. You are a special girl to be giving away something as saught after as this "extremely hard to get your hands on" pallette from MAC's Dress Camp collection. I hope that I have made it clear as to why makeup makes me happy and why I would be exstatic if I won. Thanks for considering me. Have a DIVA day. PS... I want to win cause makeup makes me happy!
I want to win this contest, because I think it would be so great! I just started using MAC products a couple of months ago and I think this would something awesome to help me get my MAC collection of the ground!
If I do win you can email me at (ch_sugar89@yahoo.com)
and why should i won .
because i want this palette soo bad i wakeup at 5 am at the mooring of the launch day to call NY pro store and sf pro store and when the time they opened they closed the phones for an hour so they do not take any orders on the phones, so when they finally answered my phone call and guess what they sold out !! and i did miss on the online deal because it was sold out within the same day which i did not even know the are going to launch it on that day ,so it was a bad!!! i cried that day i know it sound bad but i did , and i guess you know how your going to make soooo happy by giving me the palette, thank you for giving me the chance to tell my sad story .
so please if you like to make me win i will assure you that i am going to soooooooo happy my email (besmamunther@yahoo.com)
Now i'm not going to butter you up just so you will choose me to win that lovely palette.
I adore cosmetics. When I was younger I used to wonder why so many girls (and guys) had so much color on their skin. I grew up a little, experimented with makeup, and failed. Miserably. I looked like a train wreck with my Egyptian-esque liquid liner and my dark doomsday eyshadow. People even made fun of me for it. . . I would never change that no matter how many people hated it. Because I loved every single second of that. I wake up in the morning and what helps me jump out of bed is knowing soon i'll design something amazing.
Makeup makes me happy because the idea of cosmetics has gone from something that was used to hide flaws to an amazing work of art. I feel everyones face is a canvas, no matter the color, shape, or size. Colors, glitters, liners, shadows, powders. . just some of the many materials used to create something beautiful. I feel as if makeup enables me to express myself without words or actions. I love when people from school ask me "Did YOU do your makeup like that?" as a compliment, I assume. The feeling when I bat my mascarad lashes and say "Yes, I did this" Amazing.
I want to win this palette because i'd create so many different looks from the beautiful colors. The packaging screams my personality, loud and clear. It says "Yes, im wild, fierce, daring, and beautiful"
I'd love to win this palette. I obviously don't need it, i'll live without it. I hope :p But don't we all crave and thrive on self-expresson? I think so.
I greatly appreciate your wonderful offer. Whoever wins will be a very happy camper. :D

Why do you want to win?
The dress camp looks fantastic!! i love the packaging and the color, especially lipstick, so bright and bold! ive only started to wear bright lipstick recently, it would be great to add to my tiny collect hehe. Oh I don't own a MAC palette and the colors looks so pretty and versatile!!
anyway may the best person win!!
thanks for inviting me again :)

Makeup makes me happy because it lets me express my feelings on my face. If I am feeling sexy I can wear a sulrty smokey eye or if I want to impress my interviewer I can wear a great neautral eye. I think makeup boosts everyones confidence and could make even the shyest person in the room the talk of the party. Makeup makes me feel glamorous.
I wan to win this gift because I am getting married on May 17,2008 and i really wanted to use if for my wedding makeup and to be the one makeup peice I take with me on my honeymoon. But when I went to the MAC store in Fashion Valley, CA the MAC Artist told be there was no way i would ever get it because they are not selling it here. I was so upset I started to cry in the store. I know sad huh? When youre going to get married you get emotional. My fiance tried to get me one but no luck. Please help me glow on my big day.
Thank you so very much
Samantha

hm... makeup makes me happy because it changes someone personality. I believe that when I wear makeup I am more confident and daring. Without it I feel sort of naked and missing. It's fun to experiment with different looks to try to find the right makeup to match the outfit.
I want to win because I love pink but on the other hand, it's limited edition. I believe that it will just enhance my makeup collection as a fairly new use of makeup.
Thanks for "listening." :]

I want to win this contest because it'll make me happy. Plus I wasn't near a single store that released this color story and I went to the website on the 17th and everything was already sold out. I couldn't believe it. I thought I'd have a a little time before it sold out. I was So very wrong. I'm surprised it sold better than Heatherette. At any rate, this is my second and probably last chance to get this palette. You live and you learn I suppose. But thank you for offering to give away your palette

MAKEUP makes ME happy because it brings out my innter confidence and self-image. It brings out the features and characteristics that god gave me. It is MY BEST FRIEND and I can't live without makeup. Makeup is just one thing on a girl's must have list, other than clothes and shoes. It emphasizes the creative sides of people and it represents art beyond anything imaginable. MAC MAKEUP is love -- and i love MAC MAKEUP too.
I want to win this palette because I am a MAC makeup fanatic. I started collecting MAC makeup about 4 years ago and I have never missed a collection since then. My collection has grown so much, and I would love for this pallete to join my makeup family. Not only that, it has such a cute package and I LOVEE LOVEE LOVEEEE LOVVEEE animal printss SOOO MUCH. AND i loveeee pink & gold -- they are the PERFECT combination. Your look of da day inspire me to want to recreate that same look with that beautiful pallete. If i win this pallete, you won't be disappointed because I would take GOOD care of it and create many different versatile looks with them.
What is it about makeup that makes you happy?
To be honest, make up didn't make me happy at first. I live in Europe (the Netherlands to be exact) and I started watching all these make up videos on youtube about a year ago. Watching those videos made me really interested in make up and jealous at the same time. Here we only have 1(!) real MAC store in the whole country and 3 small counters. And make up here is a lot more boring and casual; most stores only have bad (and at the same time very few) drugstore brands. It was really frustrated for me to see all those hauls and fabulous MAC products and not being able to get most of them myself. But then I discovered paypal and the magic of online stores. Nowadays it's still not easy for me to get my hands on everything, like limited editions. But the joy of getting a package in the mail and knowing it is make up is really divine. A lot of packages have now already reached my mailbox and I treat all my make up like they are treasures. So now I can enjoy all the make up I have been dreaming about and it does really make me happy!
Why do you want to win?
I want to win this because, like I said, it is almost impossible for me to get this collection in my country and to find it at a descent price online. And I know that it would make me really really happy. (And I could also make other girls jealous for once!)
I don't know if I can enter this competition because I live in Europe, but I hope that you will enjoy my story anways.
Carine (noadonna@live.nl)
Makeup makes me happy for the same reasons a girl falls in love a boy. When you first hear about it you feel a bit uncomfortable, but when you get the hang of it, you look beautiful, flawless, and every guy wants to get your number.
Makeup is my art form of choice eventhough i draw, paint, and write, i can not pull myself away from conveying my expressive inner beauty with the gorgeous pigmentation that reminds me so much of childhood when every girl wanted to be a princess. Makeup makes me feel like "Princess of Expression"
Why do you want to win?
I would want to win this give-a-way because i have been wanting to have at least one MAC product for the longest time. It feels like i will have to wait til' i am out of college before i will have time, gas, and or credit card to buy one of these products that have such great review they put my products to shame. Another reason i would love to win is because MAC Cosmetics do not test on animals, this is great because i know that some of the makeup companies that i am sadly supporting by buying their products do in fact test on animals, this collection especially will remind me of this factor because of the cute Zebra print.
I hope that one of the answers i have posted will sway your decision on choosing me for this give-a-way

I want to win because I've been going through a really hard time lately and having a hard time finding work. I'm running out of MAC and would like to have a treat that makes me smile. MAC ALWAYS makes me smile.

Make-Up makes me happy, because it helps me defining a totally new "me" only by using a new Eyeshadow or somethin like this and I'm able to cover things I don't like (like pimples). Another reason is, that everyone can express his own creativity.
Why do I want to win?
Well I want to win this, becuse I've never been able to afford buying MAC things and this is the only way I can try out what MAC is about. Another reason is, that here in Germany we don't have this much possibilities to buy products of MAC.

lets get down to business, answer those questions. Well, the reason to why makeup makes me happy is the fact of being more confident and beautiful ! people think its fake to put on makeup but IT IS NOT. its flaunting what you've already got and making it even better! just simple eyeliner can you make more FIERCE (project runway anyone? :P) blush can make you look natural and fresh. i do consider makeup as part of my life and something besdies my friends&family that makes me super happy.
And now, to why i wanna win. umm HELLO MAC IS LOVE. Im sorry, like whenever i go shopping with my friends i like get all jumpy just seeing the mac counter. 0_0 i know, alittle strange. but uh yah MAC IS LOVE. not only is it mac, but the package is the most chic-est i've seen. white black and gold? omg. LOVE. it looks sooo expensive and hot! i've never seen anything like this from mac and would really appreciate having it! LOLOL, i think i'd place it on my vanity and stare at it. yup, spoken like a true mac addict. (:
well thats all i can say;

When i was very young, maybe around the age of 5, i used to run into my mother's bathroom the second she closed the front door on her way to work and put her makeup on myself. Now, in my family, the kids are usually made fun of for trying to wear makeup. So every time i was caught doing so, my relatives would laugh and make fun of me. they didn't understand that wearing it made me feel incredible. i love to wear makeup because when i wear it i can be anyone i want to make myself. whatever anybody says, nothing will ever keep me from my makeup. it doesn't laugh at how i look. it can't make fun of me. makeup makes me feel really happy inside. it makes me feel soo good to buy it, use it, know it, even look at it, that is soo unbelievable i can't even put it into real words. makeup is so powerful, it can take me into my world where no one can stop me or get in the way of my path unlike the real world where people are soo cruel and unfriendly.
I want to win soo bad because i have been saving up for dress camp for since i heard about it and the only way i could get my hands on it was online. and i was forbidden to order online any more, so i told my dad that i would buy everything from the dress camp collection for my 16th birthday on April 23rd as a present to myself. i was planning to place my order on April 17th because that was the day that it was going to be released online, so i thought. but i checked on the website the day before, and it turns out that it was already up, even worse, it was all sold out. i tried to do everything in my power to get my hands on it. but it was impossible. this was the only thing i was excited about for my birthday but it made it the worse, because i don't have a sweet sixteen birthday party, i don't have any dress camp, and hardly and of my family and friends remembered it was my birthday =(. so if i did win this pallet, it would make me feel like my 16th birthday wasn't such a horrible time.
much love,
-Madelynn (xxmadxelyxnnxx@aol.com)
like you, i love makeup and especially MAC. Everday just pulling out my traincase i get excited of what ill try on my face. Its like art but making yourself look pretty instead of paper. I think its supa fun! working with amazing colours, learning tips from makeup artists or even people on youtube i can try new things and see what looks good on me and what works on my skintone. makeup will ALWAYS be fun and never a chore.
why i want to win. wow. i can pretty much say because im a HUGE MAC FANATIC! H-E-L-L-O.LOL <3 my love for mac is like i CANT even explain. i've found this collection really different to others considering it was created by a japense designer! and im 1/4 jap!!!!! ALSO, when i heard this was coming out, on that day i actually skipped school, went home to my computer and wanted to order it. it was around 1 pm and omg it was sold out already!not only was my heart broken, i got BOOKED. detention for a week for skipping. yuup, really sucks.
i really find this pretty and it would be a huge staple in my growing makeup collection. my collection isnt that great YET, but i try to work with what i have. and having that ZEBRA PRINT PALETTE (omfg) would be AWESOMEEEEEE. i think you know how i feel :P

*WHAT ABOUT MAKEUP MAKES YOU HAPPY?
Makeup makes me happy because it reminds me of my mother, who was the most beautiful person in the world to me, both inside and outside. My mother was (and still is) one of the most important role models in my life.
Makeup, to me, symbolizes beauty rather than vanity. It shows that one can be as beautiful on the outside as they are in their hearts. My mother taught me that makeup is empowering, but does not completely make a woman. "Great makeup is the easiest part of feeling beautiful, since the rest comes from the inside", she would tell me. She taught me to always be happy with who you are and what you look like; she showed me to avoid focusing on the flaws, but rather to just quickly cover them up and act like they never existed in the first place. Instead of focusing on the bad, she taught me to play up my features and be happy with what I have been blessed with.
As a young child, I would lovingly watch my mother put on her makeup. Wearing a bathrobe and her signature black heels, she would stand in front of the mirror and work her magic. A quick dusting of blush here, a swipe of lip gloss there, a dab of concealer here, and in a quick swirl of fluffy brushes, my mother was ready to face the world. She always look polished and perfectly gorgeous. I saw my mother as some sort of supermodel, she was always looking beautiful to me.
Fast forward to a few years later, and just try to imagine how elated I was when my 13th birthday present was a trip down to the large MAC Store in beautiful San Diego. I was going with my mother to pick out my first ever makeup products! My mother led me straight to her favorite MAC makeup artist, a petite, friendly-looking woman whom had been a high school friend of my mother's. I listened to the women chatter away, and after my first real mini make-over, I felt like the prettiest birthday girl in the world! I remember coming home with a sheer pressed powder, a shimmery nude eyeshadow, dark brown eyeliner, and a gorgeous pink gloss (I think it was Prr!). From then on, my mother and I would do our makeup in the mornings together, talking and laughing and sharing stories. It was beautiful. Using our makeup to enhance our natural beauty was one of the most memorable bonding experiences I've ever had throughout the years of my mother's life.
My mother passed away on October 13th, 2004, only a few months before my 16th birthday. She had been battling breast cancer. It was such a terrible and yet an enlightening experience at the same time for a teenager to go through. I learned what true strength and beauty really are. Through the worst of hardships, my mother kept positive. One of my most loving memories of her before her passing is the fact that she was always looking beautiful. The nurses at the hospital would tell me how she would do their makeup and she would make friends with other patients and do their makeup as well. Everyone adored my mother. I could not have been more proud of my mother's kindness, generosity, and always positive attitude beautifully shown through something so simple like makeup!
I am now 19 years old, and these memories live on with me. I still get ready every single morning in my mother's ethereally-lit bathroom, and sometimes I will share a story or two to the empty walls out of habit; I know she is still listening to me.
Makeup makes me so happy because it reminds me of my beautiful mother. I have decided to go to school to become a makeup artist, and I can definitely thank my mother for the influence. I know that she would be so proud of me.
*WHY DO I WANT TO WIN?
I would like to win this palette because I am currently working a full-time job in order to save up money for beauty school, while attending college as a full-time student. Needless to say, most of the money I make has been put into a school-funds savings account sine my father refuses to pay for beauty school as opposed to what he calls a "real college". The rest of my paychecks are used for necessities. I don't have too much left over for makeup, but this palette was too beautiful to pass up! I made a rare exception to buy makeup just for this palette (the packaging is exceptionally gorgeous!), but unfortunately it was already sold out on the MAC website by the time I got home from work that day.
I have been attending my local community college for a few years even while I was in high school to prepare for my future in the makeup arts (taking stage/costume makeup, art classes/painting/color studies along with General Education classes). I am getting my AA degree from my community college after this upcoming 2008 summer semester at the ripe age of 19; once I receive my AA degree I am going to begin my career in makeup artistry. Once I complete that training, I am going to use my AA degree to further complete an MA degree at a "real college" in Communications/Journalism, another passion of mine (if you couldn't tell I love to write!).
Wish me luck!
Thank you for taking the time to read my extra-long post! I hope it can inspire you or another reader as much as I feel it has for me.
